Makita 18v Battery

The 18 volt line of Makita power tools covers a full array of contractor-grade drills, drivers, saws and sanders.

The LXT Series, featuring the Makita 18v lithium battery technology provides its users with more heavy duty work capability and the latest technology for sustained battery life.  Demanding projects may be better served by 18 volt tools over those that use the Makita 9.6v battery or the Makita 12v battery.

Lithium-ion batteries created a breakthrough in cordless tool technology and capabilities due to more power, less weight and better engineering. LXT models are compact and feature excellent ergonomics for added control.

One of the most important qualities that any contractor will look for is durability. Makita 18v batteries feature multi contact terminals to ensure a tight connection to the power tool even during the most rigorous work. Super tough construction protects the battery cells against dust, moisture and shock.

Makita's high-torque motor and drivetrain squeeze every ounce of performance from the battery.  Overall the 18 volt drills and drill drivers exhibit excellent industrial design.  For a large and heavy drill, it’s well-balanced and handles easily due to a well designed handle.

The latest generation lithium ion battery feature a very quick recharge cycle.  Nickel cadmium batteries used to take at least a couple of hours or more to fully charge.  The newest lithium ion batteries will charge fully in just 20 minutes using the DC18RA Rapid Charger.

Although it is optimal to always buy replacement parts from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), there are after-market batteries that were designed to work with your Makita tool and battery charger. Most after-market power tool batteries are made with the same battery cells used in the original Makita units.  After-market batteries are designed to original manufacturer’s specifications and should not void manufacturer’s warranty.
